Collegium Pharmaceutical, Inc. is a specialty biopharmaceutical company founded in 2002 and headquartered in Stoughton, Massachusetts, with plans to relocate its headquarters to Boston in 2027. The company trades on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker COLL and focuses on developing and commercializing medicines for people living with serious medical conditions, particularly chronic pain and central nervous system disorders. Collegium initially built its business around pharmaceutical formulation and drug-delivery technology, but acquisitions of established medicines have helped it evolve into a diversified pharmaceutical company with a broader commercial portfolio.

Pain management remains a major part of Collegium's operations. Its portfolio includes Xtampza ER, an extended-release formulation of oxycodone designed with abuse-deterrent properties; Belbuca, a buprenorphine buccal film used to manage severe, persistent pain; and Nucynta, a brand covering immediate-release and extended-release tapentadol products for pain management. The company also markets Symproic, a treatment for opioid-induced constipation in adults with chronic non-cancer pain. These medicines address different aspects of pain treatment and its associated complications, while Collegium's commercial activities include working with healthcare professionals, pharmacies and other participants in the prescription medicine supply chain.

Collegium has expanded into neuropsychiatry, particularly treatments for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Its portfolio includes Jornay PM, a methylphenidate medication formulated for evening dosing to help manage ADHD symptoms beginning the following morning, and AZSTARYS, a once-daily stimulant medication combining serdexmethylphenidate and dexmethylphenidate. Collegium acquired Jornay PM through its 2024 acquisition of Ironshore Therapeutics and acquired AZSTARYS from Corium Therapeutics in 2026. These additions broadened its focus beyond pain management and gave the company an established presence in another prescription drug market, supported by its existing commercial infrastructure.

Acquisitions, product commercialization and differentiated drug formulations are central to Collegium's business strategy. Rather than depending exclusively on discovering medicines from the earliest stages of research, the company has expanded by acquiring marketed treatments and building their reach among prescribers and patients. Its portfolio spans medications with distinct dosing schedules, delivery methods and therapeutic uses, allowing it to serve multiple patient populations through a single commercial organization. Collegium also emphasizes responsible pain management and patient-support initiatives, while its expansion into ADHD treatments reflects a broader effort to diversify its business across serious medical conditions.
