DTE Energy Co is an American utility company headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. It was founded in 1995, when Detroit Edison merged with MichCon. The company provides electricity and natural gas to millions of customers across Michigan, serving both residential and commercial customers. It is the largest utility company in Michigan, with a diverse portfolio of energy-related businesses.

 

DTE Energy generates electricity using a mix of coal, natural gas, nuclear, and renewable energy sources. The company operates several power plants, including the Fermi 2 Nuclear Power Plant, the Monroe Power Plant, and the Belle River Power Plant. In recent years, DTE Energy has increased its investment in renewable energy, with a goal of reducing its carbon emissions by 80% by 2040. The company has invested in wind and solar power, and has set a target of generating 40% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2040.
