Gran Tierra Energy Inc. is a Canadian‐based independent oil and gas exploration & production company, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. The company was founded in 2005 and over the years has built its identity around operating assets in Latin America as well as maintaining a presence in Canada.
Its operations are centered in Colombia and Ecuador, with additional acreage in Canada. In Colombia, Gran Tierra holds interests in multiple blocks, and it operates many of its Colombian assets. Its Canadian assets are more conventional, and many are operated by or with partnerships, giving it exposure to North American basins.
