RXO, Inc. is a U.S. transportation and logistics company created when XPO separated its tech-enabled brokered transportation platform into a standalone business in November 2022. The spin-off formalized a brokerage-centric enterprise that had been developed inside XPO, with the new company positioned around arranging capacity rather than operating a large owned fleet. RXO established its headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina and went to market under a brand introduced ahead of the separation.
The company’s core is full truckload brokerage—matching shipper freight with a nationwide pool of third-party carriers—complemented by managed transportation, last-mile/home delivery, and freight forwarding. These offerings let customers procure spot or contract capacity, outsource transportation planning and execution, and coordinate final-mile deliveries for bulky goods, all within one provider that orchestrates rather than owns the underlying assets.
Operationally, RXO runs an asset-light marketplace supported by its RXO Connect™ technology platform. The system aggregates large amounts of carrier capacity and provides real-time visibility, pricing, and tendering tools for shippers and carriers, reinforced by mobile apps adopted across the network. The emphasis is on digital matching and control-tower coordination to move freight efficiently across North American lanes while maintaining status tracking from pickup through delivery.
